Unlike any other military college in the United States–and in keeping with its founding principles–all VMI students are military cadets pursuing bachelor degrees. VMI offers cadets a spartan, physically demanding environment combined with strict military discipline.

While all VMI cadets must participate in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC), they are not required to serve in the military upon graduation. Instead, VMI graduates may either accept a commission in any of the US military branches or pursue civilian endeavors upon graduation.

Prospective cadets must be between 16 and 22 years of age. They must be unmarried, and have no legal dependents, physically fit for enrollment in the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) and be graduates of an accredited secondary school or have completed an approved homeschool curriculum. New cadets at VMI have an average high school GPA of 3.39 and a mean SAT score of approximately 1140.

MI carefully limits the scope of the Academic Program in order to ensure curricular and extracurricular offerings of the highest quality.

In addition to 14 majors offering 17 degrees and 23 minors, VMI offers a number of creative and well-funded Academic Enrichment Programs. These include the Institute Honors Program and the Undergraduate Research Initiative, as well as opportunities offered through the Institute Writing Program.

The University of Pennsylvania (Commonly referred to ass Penn) is part of Ivy League universities. The institution is a private research university based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. Penn is the fourth-oldest institution of higher education in the United States.

The founder of the university was Benjamin Franklin who advocated an educational program that focused as much on practical education for commerce and public service as on the classics and theology. Penn was one of the first academic institutions to follow a multidisciplinary model pioneered by several European universities, concentrating multiple “faculties” (e.g., theology, classics, medicine) into one institution.

Penn is consistently included among the top five research universities in the US, and among the top research universities in the world, both in terms of quality and in terms of quantity of research.

Founded in 1917 as a school of accounting and finance in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood, Bentley moved to Waltham in 1968. In late 2010, Bentley University was ranked one of the top 20 undergraduate business schools by Business Week and was ranked #6 in Best Career/Job Placement Services by Princeton Review.

Bentley University is distinctive among U.S. and international universities in having two faculties, in business and in the arts and sciences, which are unified in their educational mission. Bentley may therefore be understood as a university within a business school – a university because of the character and scope of its education and research agendas, and a business school because of its orientation.

Bentley graduates excel in complex and dynamic environments through their capacity to initiate, lead, and effect value-creating change. As responsible and ethical individuals, they recognize and take into account the broader social, political, and environmental context within which all organizations operate.

It offers degrees in various fields such as composition, contemporary writing and production, film scoring, jazz composition, music business/management, music education, music production and engineering, electronic production and design, music therapy, performance, professional music, and songwriting.

The school is a campus of Antioch University.

Antioch College was founded in 1852 in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Horace Mann, Antioch College’s first president, was a renowned educator, architect of the American public school system, social reformer and abolitionist. His goal was to create an educational environment that was stimulating and unconventional in its approach to learning.

As early as 1863, Antioch embraced a policy abolishing race as a criterion for acceptance. Since then, Antioch has been a dedicated advocate for social equity. Antioch College was also the first college in America to educate women on equal terms with men. In addition, Antioch was the first American college to hire female faculty on an equal basis with male colleagues and the first co-educational college to have a woman on its Board of Trustees.

The Antioch University of today is the legacy of Horace Mann’s original vision, and an example of the success of educational experimentation, innovation and diversity of thought. Antioch University continues to break down educational barriers and rebuild them as educational opportunities. Since its creation in 1852 Antioch has evolved from a small liberal arts college to a multi-campus university system with five campuses located across the nation in Yellow Springs, Ohio, Keene, New Hampshire, Seattle, Washington, Santa Barbara, California and Los Angeles, California. Throughout its history, Antioch University has reinvented itself to meet the needs of its students within an ever-changing world.

Academics

AULA’s B.A. in Liberal Studies Program is a pioneering undergraduate degree completion option for students looking for the individualized attention of outstanding faculty mentors and small interactive classes that cultivate rigorous dialogue and critical thinking.

Antioch University’s Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology Program introduces learners to a wide range of theories and techniques that will prepare them to work in today’s increasingly diverse society. In addition, learners are challenged to look inward and to arrive at new insights that will help them develop greater depth as psychotherapists.

The Master of Arts in Organizational Management Program provides a professional, values-centered education to leaders, managers, consultants, entrepreneurs, and individual contributors who can more effectively work with and through people to accomplish organizational goals.

M.F.A. in Creative Writing educates students in the various roles of the Writer in Society, how to make a difference on the page and in the diverse communities where writers work and live.

There is no other Master of Arts in Education or Teacher Credentialing program quite like Antioch University’s in all of Southern California. NMMI is located in Roswell, New Mexico, United States. It is sometimes referred to as the West Point of the West and it is the only state-supported military college located in the western United States. NMMI includes a college preparatory four-year high school and a two-year junior college. Founded in 1891 by Joseph C. Lea, who selected former Confederate Col. Robert S. Goss as the Superintendent for the Goss Military Institute (which was later renamed NMMI), and inspired by Virginia Military Institute, it is one of five Military Junior Colleges in the United States.

Students who attend NMMI are referred to as ‘Cadets’ and are classified as either ‘Old Cadets’ or ‘New Cadets’. It typically has about 980 cadets, 95 percent of whom go on to four-year universities, The school’s Army ROTC program commissions approximately 35 cadets per year as US Army 2nd Lieutenants through the US Army two-year Early Commissioning Program (ECP), and about 100 cadets each year go to one of the five major United States Service academies. Many NMMI graduates are currently serving as senior-level officers in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

NMMI first admitted women as cadets in 1977 due to a court decision, although some women did attend as non-cadet day students in the early years of the school. It is the only state-supported co-educational college preparatory military boarding high school (grades 9—12) and junior college in the United States and is renowned for its quality leadership programs for female cadets.

The school’s motto is “Duty, Honor, and Achievement”. The school’s teams are the Broncos (junior college) and the Colts (high school) and the school is known for the mandatory attendance of its cadets at football games. The school’s colors are scarlet and black.

The American Jewish University, formerly the separate institutions University of Judaism and Brandeis-Bardin Institute, is a Jewish, non-denominational and highly eclectic institution in Los Angeles, California. Its largest component is its Whizin Center for Continuing Education in which 12,000 students are enrolled annually in non-credit granting courses. A prominent program of the Center is the university’s annual speaker series, featuring luminaries like Tony Blair, Colin Powell, and other political and diplomatic leaders.

The University of Judaism was founded in 1947. The spiritual founder was Dr. Mordecai Kaplan, a Jewish thinker and philosopher whose goal was to create an institution representing the diversity of Judaic expression in the United States. Initially a project of the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City and the Bureau of Jewish Education of Greater Los Angeles, the UJ became an independent institution in the 1970s. It became officially non-denominational with the ascension to the presidency of Dr. Robert Wexler in 1992. Dr. Wexler was preceded in the presidency by Dr. Simon Greenberg (1947—1963) and Dr. David Lieber (1963—1992).

In March 2007, officials from both the University of Judaism and the Brandeis-Bardin Institute, an education and camping organization in Simi Valley, announced the two parties would merge into a new organization called the American Jewish University with UJ President Dr. Robert Wexler at the helm.

The academic program itself at the College grants the Bachelor of Arts degree. The core curriculum consists of over half the required credits during a student’s time at the College, and consists of the study of Western, non-Western, and Jewish civilizations, foreign language studies, arts, science, math, and computer study. Several academic majors and minors are offered including:

Bioethics, Business, English and Literature, Jewish Studies, Journalism, Liberal Studies, Literature and Politics, Media, Communications, Political Science, Behavioral Sciences (Psychology), and U.S. Public Policy

The Lieber School of Graduate Studies offers programs in Nonprofit Management and Jewish Communal Studies. Students may earn a Master of Business Administration degree in Nonprofit Management, or students who have already earned a Master of Arts degree in some other field may earn an M.A. in Nonprofit Management.

The Fingerhut School of Education offers a Master of Arts in Education degree, in which students can choose to focus on Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, or Jewish Educational Foundations. The Fingerhut School of Education also offers a M.A.Ed. focusing on Experiential Jewish Education.
